Queens Parade, Clifton Hill
This multi-residential apartment development is positioned by the Queens Parade heritage retail precinct, offering residences with environmentally conscious design and views across Edinburgh Gardens to the CBD.
Gestalt purchased the site and engaged Clare Cousins to prepare a design concept. After a protracted rezoning process and engagement with a deeply invested local community, the site was eventually sold.
While our vision was not realised, there were still positive takeaways from the project, including the opportunity to collaborate closely with Clare Cousins. A highly respected architect best known for private residences, Her approach to multi-residential design was outstanding, working from the inside of the building out and creating spaces for people to live in – and not just an architectural masterpiece.
Gestalt donated the site to the well-known artist Rone to help activate the space and discourage misuse. Working with Rone and his creative community was an amazing experience and an unexpected positive outcome from this project.
